Our network currently covers over 100 markets worldwide. In the U.S., Canada, Europe and the UK, we utilise our own established custody operations, in the other markets, we have selected a local agent bank to facilitate custody servicing.

When did State Street begin working as a custodian ("Depotbank") for German KAGs?
 
State Street Bank GmbH was established in 1970 — our first office opened outside the United States. In July 1994, State Street received the banking license for Germany. In January 1996, State Street Bank GmbH obtained permission from the BaFin, German Banking Supervisory Agency (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht) to act as custodian for German Special Funds.
